[Entropy] Entropy News Letter, July 2004

Dear All,
welcome once more to the Entropy news letter. If you're
receiving this letter its because this email address has been
subscribed to the Entropy Announce list. If you did not
subscribe, or wish to unsubscribe, please email
jim.grimmett@curiosity-shoppe.com and Jim will remove you
from the list.

ENTROPY THIS MONTH

This month Entropy will be on Saturday, 17th July in the
PORTER BUTT on the LONDON ROAD in BATH. Entrance will cost
a mere £3. A fully licensed bar will be open all night.

Once again DJ Roper (Discord) will be joining regulars Jim and Michael

Full details of this month's Entropy, including maps of
where the Porter Butt is can be found on our website:

http://www.entropybath.co.uk

ENTROPY LAST MONTH

Last month Ruth and Jim were joined by local DJ Ian. Ian's DJed at a
number of places around town (notably The Bath Tap). After a couple of
months with a low turn out, numbers were back up into the 'very
healthy' range and the dance floor stayed full after around 11pm. Even
with a broken smoke machine, people danced early on and the atmosphere
was great all night.

The set list (up to 1am) is available on our website here:

OTHER NEWS THIS MONTH

Infest

For those that might be interested, a quick reminder that there is
just over one month to go before InFest 2004 (Fri 27th - Sun 29th
August). Tickets and accomodation are still available. More
information is available on their website:

New Alternative Shop?

One industrious Entropy regular is looking into setting up a shop for
us local alternative types. Alternative music CDs, clothes, jewellery
and space to organise local events are all possibilities, but if
there's something you'd like to see in our area that isn't being
provided email jim.grimmett@curiosity-shoppe.com and your ideas will
be passed on. Serious suggestions only please ;-)

Flier Competition.

Poor Jim has to organise the design of all the fliers for Entropy and,
some months, his Antiguan design partners are a little too busy (we
suppose) to come up with top-notch ideas. Jim himself spends a little
time on fliers and posters but really doesn't have the time.

So, in order to help out we're holding a competition to design some
fliers for Entropy. The winner will get a CD of his or her choice, and
free entrance to any Entropy advertised by their flier!

Each flier needs to be 614 pixels by 800 pixels and needs to look good
in both colour (for posters) and black and white. The flier should
clearly have the "Entropy" logo (which is in the '1979' font) and note the
date, cost of entry, times, and the date of the next Entropy. Designs
should advertise Entropy on Saturday, August 21st (the next Entropy
after that will be Saturday, September 18th). For inspiration and past
fliers you can check out our gallery:

http://www.curiosity-shoppe.com/entropy/gallery.shtml

Assuming we get some entries (come on, you know you want to) the best
flier will be announced next month and (hopefully) used to promote
Entropy around Bath and Bristol in August. Email entries to
jim.grimmett@curiosity-shoppe.com. Please zip them up if they're
bigger than 500K.
