[Entropy] Newsletter, November 2005
Dear All,
Welcome once more to the Entropy newsletter. If you're

ENTROPY THIS MONTH
This month, Michael and Jim are joined by Ruth for their normal mix of
indie, goth, EBM and alternative tunes.
Doors open at 8pm on Saturday, 5th November at the Porter Butt on the
London Road in Bath.

ENTROPY LAST MONTH
Our fourth birthday. When we started Entropy, Michael and I had no idea
that Entropy would last so long... hell, we were hoping people would
go to the first one! In the past four years more and more has been
happening in the 'alt scene' in Bath but we're glad that Entropy still
has a place and people still like coming along.
As with last year's birthday, this Entropy was a fancy dress night and
this time around we chose something easier than Brian Blessed as the
theme: Pirates! More than half of the people who came showed up in
fancy dress and we had some amazing costumes. The winners of our
competition were Gumby, Belinda and Martin winning drink, T-shirts,
computer games and DVDs!
Nick and Gilly came down to DJ for us from The Wendyhouse in Leeds,
probably the biggest gothy/emb/alt night in the county, and played
some cracking tunes to fill the dance floor and keep everyone
happy. Jim filled in the gaps between their sets and the night went
down very well.
Thanks to everyone for coming, and thanks for the kind emails and text
messages from everyone who had such a good time. Here's hoping for
another party next year!

OTHER NEWS THIS MONTH
Au Revoir Porter Butt!
Thanks to changes in the licensing laws the Porter Butt has been
granted a late license for EVERY Friday and Saturday night! You may
think that this is a good thing but, thanks to one local resident's
complaint. the Porter Butt will no longer be able to play amplified
music after 11pm. As you can imagine, this causes Entropy a few
problems as we do little else apart from drink...
Andy (the landlord of the Porter Butt) is now looking into
soundproofing their back function room and we fully intend to be back
there when its all done but until then we'll be at a different venue.
NEXT MONTH ENTROPY will be running at THE CROWN
INN in Bathwick. If you don't know where it is the following

The Crown Inn is a little closer to town than the Porter Butt was and
we'll be down in the basement. We'll be licenced until 1am as usual.
This month we're STILL AT THE PORTER BUTT so why not come along
this Saturday and help give our spiritual home the send off it deserves!
