   Welcome once more to the Entropy news letter. If you're

ENTROPY THIS MONTH

This month on Saturday, October 7th Entropy is back at the Porter
Butt. It is our Fifth birthday and we'll be having a party to
celebrate as we did last year and the year before. This time the theme
is MONSTERS. Frankenstein, Medusa, Daleks, Dinosaurs, the Hulk - any
monster is welcome. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress
costume but don't worry if you haven't anything planned - I'm sure the
monsters won't eat you...

Michael, Jim and Ruth will be playing alternative tunes in Entropy's
own eclectic style from 8pm until 1am. Entry costs only £3 per person
all night and drinks are at normal pub prices with cheap house doubles
all night.

We hope to see you there.

There is one further bit of good news to share. October's Entropy
isn't the only one at the Porter Butt: WE'RE BACK FOR GOOD. We're
booked in for the FIRST SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH IN 2006 and after
January off we're booked in for EVERY FIRST SATURDAY IN 2007.

After a year away from our regular, spiritual home we're very happy to
be back at the Porter Butt once more.

NEWS THIS MONTH

Life is HELL

Kicking off on Saturday 4 November, at Invention Studios (behind
the Hobgoblin), REINVENTING HELL is Bath's brand-new rock,
metal and hardcore punk night.

They're planning two rooms with three live bands and DJs all night
starting at 8pm with cheap drinks for an hour, including vodka, Jack
and Stella for only £1.50 each. The night has backing from record
labels such as In At The Deep End and Victory Records, PR senseis
Hero PR and Division and some of the biggest music mags in Europe,
notably Classic Rock, Total Guitar and Rhythm.

Opening night will include Pantera-esque groove metal behemoths Shadow
Aspect, followed by Bath's metal sludge mafia Born To Break Even,
before MTV2 rising stars Fei Comodo end the live part of the night
with their inimitable brand of hardcore screamo.

Seven is Weekly Again

A few months back Seven went bi-weekly but this month Seven is going
back to being on EVERY Tuesday night at QT's night club (under Pultney
Bridge) in Bath. The Seven DJs will now be playing their own
distinctive brand of alternative tunes from 9.30pm every week.

Halloween

The last day of October is of course, HALLOWEEN: The Scariest and
darkest night of the calendar. There is plenty going on starting with
Halloween night in the Hobgoblin on Saturday 28th and a special return
for Subspecies at The Hatchett in Bristol on the same night. On Tuesday
31st itself Seven and Entropy present a Halloween night like no
other. Doors open at 9.30 and the club is licensed until 4am!

The front room will be playing indie anthems, pop, cheese and anything
to make the happy halloween goers boogie. The back room plays host to
Seven DJs playing Seven's own brand of alternative tunes.

The night is a fancy dress night with prizes for the best costume and
the theme of the night is Accident and Emergency... wait until you see
the flyers...

Scoundrel Club

This month on October 5th sees a new alternative night opening in
Bristol. Every Thursday night at the Cavern Club (under the Crown Pub
at St Nicks market Bristol) is The Scoundrel Club. They advertise
themselves thusly "Serving up a sumptuous blend of the sleziest rock,
the dirtiest indie, the filthiest goth and just about anything
alternative that can be deemed music to get naughty to."

Front Clothing

Cheltenham's alternative clothes shop Front Clothing has recently
moved to a far more central location into bigger and better premises
on Albion Street and will soon be opening a piercing studio with
piercing by Nigel Hopkins to add to their extensive range of quality
body jewellery.

Stocking ranges encompasing hair dye, body jewellery & accessories to
clothing & Footwear. They stock labels including Rockett, Famous Stars
and Straps, Ed Stone Rockwear, Criminal Damage, New Rock, Draven,
Darkside, Pornstar, Suspect, Mode Wichtig,  Scary Miss Mary, as well
as offering an extensive customer order service.
