ENTROPY THIS MONTH
This month on Saturday 7th July, regular Entropy DJs Jim and
Michael are joined by Lucky 13 (Discord, Ignition). Expect the
usual mix of all things indie, industrial and alternative with a
sprinkling of Goth, Noise and cheesy tunes.
Full details of this month's Entropy, including maps of where the
Porter Butt is can be found on our website:
http://www.entropybath.co.uk
ENTROPY LAST MONTH
After our June guest DJ confirmed that he couldn't make it along
this month, we decided that Michael and Jim should show their mettle
and prove that they could manage the whole night on their own! A
little mad perhaps but confidence was high...
The night started well with plenty of people through the doors before
half past ten. By the end of the night we had our second biggest crowd
of the year dancing around like loons. Only March saw more Entropy
goers make it to the Porter Butt.
Thanks once again to all those who took the trouble to come along and
helped to make it a cracking night. Cheers!
Last month's set lists can be found on our web site here:

NEWS THIS MONTH
R.I.P. Fopp?
It has been widely reported that this week Fopp has now closed its
105 shops. They shut 50 of the shops for a day last week and began
accepting only cash for purchases. They also suspended orders on their
web site. Now it seems they didn't have any luck convincing creditors
to give them more leeway and the chain has called in administrators.
A blog entry on the Bath based Fopp cafe's myspace site states that
"We are not open at the moment. All gigs cancelled." Further posts
suggest that Fopp may be open again if a buyer can be found for the
ailing chain. Alternative night Purr recently moved to the Fopp cafe
but has managed to move their scheduled shows over to Moles. The
showswill be on the same dates as previously advertised but will be
on inthe afternoon. More info will be posted on the Purr website as
they know about it.
Front line Assembly.
Canadian electo-industrial masters Front Line Assembly come to Bristol
at the Carling Acadmy. Supported by The Judas Coven (ex Lab4). Doors
open at 6.30pm and gig will finish around 9.45pm and be followed by
The Academy's usual Friday entertainment: Ramshackle. Tickets are
still available at ticketweb for £14 per person plus booking fee.
Gary Numan.
Fans of Electro have a real treat this month as Gary Numan plays the
Carling Academy in Bristol on Thursday 26th July. Playing a mix of
classics, songs from his newest album Jagged, and recent
collaborations with producer Ade fenton. Reviews of the new work are
glowing and those that can get tickets are up for a wild ride.
Tickets are £18 (plus booking fee) and can be bought from ticketweb.
There is also a competition to win two free tickets here:
